The anticipated rise in health insurance costs for current and former employees of the state of Massachusetts may lead to a retirement crisis. The unfunded health insurance liability may boomerang onto the taxpayers. Ralph White, president of the Retired State County And Municipal Employees Association says the “head in the sand” attitude is beginning to end. The fear is that the state may find itself unable to foot the two billion dollar health insurance cost.
